Hunan Garden in Mount Vernon

Chicken lo mein was missing an important ingredient. CHICKEN!!!. Hot and sour soup was hot, lacked any tartness. Yucky!!!

Hunan Garden changed owners I believe a little while back, and the new owner has done a good job at keeping the flavors the same. Their pricing is good, and good is always fast and good. Great for those busy nights when you don't have the time to cook.

We were sat at the front table by the door and were forgotten about. Finally when the server came, he was friendly but was in a hurry. No tea, no ice water for a really long time. I have been a server in the past, and no matter how busy you are ,you make every customer feel like they are waited on. Others that came in after us, were already eating. Then it was so disappointing that our food was cold. I was very nice. But when then asked how was everything, I just responded not good. I was looking forward to this and was very disappointed. The server said, well I was busy soooo....So? Wow... Sad, very sad.

Went to lunch with some friends, I'd never eaten there. I had a great experience, the service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the sweet and sour shrimp and my friends had the house fried rice. There were no complaints at our table. I will go back to Hunan garden in the future to try more of their menu.

This is (was) my sweet and sour chicken. As you can see I appreciated it so much I ate all of it. Probably tied for first for the best sit down non-buffet Chinese restaurant I have been to. And I've probably been to ten across the Midwest.

Been eating here since they opened. Great staff and the food is excellent. They have added new items to the menu recently. I highly recommend this resteraunt.

Probably the best Chinese in town. Most dishes under 8-9$. Sweet & sour chicken is excellent. Clean but needs a bit of updating to decor.

The food I've had here is very good. I enjoy the General Tso Chicken. They look like they have replaced the seating recently which is nice, but in my case the table was very close to the seat and was a bit crampy. The wait staff is friendly. If you order pop it is not out of a fountain, but rather out of a bottle, so no refills. Overall I would recommend this place for a nice dinner (or lunch).

The restraint is perfect, give you that authentic traditional feel! Beautiful pics on the wall and the staff is super nice, then the food, the food is so dang delicious and not to expensive !!! Wonderful!

First time going here, had way too much sauce in the chicken! I also found a bone in the "boneless" chicken . I have been sick to my stomach since I ate there earlier today. Will NOT revisit!

try the moo shoo pork! its the best! also the pork fried rice is good too, we add bean sprouts yum!

A classic establishment in Mount Vernon. Great food at a reasonable price. Lunch is a great deal with a nice portion and you get soup and tea with it.

Food...great as always. They only made 1, I ordered 3...plus ordered chicken fried rice & got shrimp fried rice. Check your orders before you leave!

Always friendly environment. Wait staff are always nice and greet everyoneand tend to know their regulars. The decor is fun. The food is delicious. Great place to stop. I have been there many times and never had a negative experience.

Salty, salty salty. Good food if u r healthy. Can't understand most of employees. If u can eat salty foods, great place. Just too much salt. Great tea!! Could use low salt soy sauce or gluten free soy sauce.

Excellent Chinese food. I get the house fried rice often.It’s take-only right now, but they have it made in ten minutes from when you call, so very quick!

Used to be good, but something happened within the last year. Orange chicken is bland, no chilis. Hot and sour soup is bland as well. Very very average. Something doesn't seem right.

So I got some food here... there was paper in my food. The food did not taste to bad but a 50 Dollar meal went to waste because of unedible objects in my food and even in the frys. This is just Unacceptable and needs to be inspected by the health inspector. They maybe did that because we did not tip on a Carry out order but what a way to deter Consumers. I don’t know why this place has 4 stars the only way Is they paid people to give them back. I would only recommend this to a enemy you have been warned.

One of favorite restaurants! Food and service is always great! Great for take-out too...they have never messed up my order.

When we first moved to Mr Vernon 3 yrs ago the food was great. There has been a steady decline in the quality and flavor of the food. We ordered the Beef in Garlic Sauce on our last visit. This was marked as a spicy dish. It was bland with no taste of garlic nor any spicy heat. The house chop suey was tasteless with only chicken and a couple of shrimp noted in it. Very disappointed.

We met my sister and her husband here for early dinner. Service was outstanding, restaurant was clean and staff were very helpful and friendly!Food portions were generous, delicious and reasonably priced! We'll definitely be back!

We ordered a lot of food for Mother’s Day and the won ton soup tasted like hot water and the dumpling had no meat inside of it and everything tasted horrible and we wasted 70$ no egg roles no fried rice when we ordered it and this was carry out

Great lunch specials-- $6-8 for an entree, soup, hot tea, and crab rangoon. Easy to get in and out in a timely manner as well. Never had a bad meal here.

First time going here with family. Got a seat real fast. Restaurant was clean and in order. Was served hot tea for free. Ordered off the lunch menu and got a huge portion for under $8. One of them better Chinese restaurants I've been too. Staff was friendly as well.
